Norma Rowland

Tonight I was at the home of Norma Rowland. A familiar name to many people in the town of Remington. Norma grew up in Remington and has lived in Remington or just outside of it her entire life. She graduated from Remington High School and married her high school sweetheart, Randy Rowland.

Norma is pictured tonight in fashions from Cabi by Invitation. She is a consultant for this home clothing line. She was showing the spring line tonight to some of her regular customers, including me. This is her 13th season of clothing, and she absolutely loves this job.

Norma is co-chairperson of the Remington Sesquicentennial of 2010. You will also find her at Fountain Park this summer, and every summer!

Tonight we are looking at the possibility of some major snow accumulation. We shall see......

Borage and Karen

Today's picture is actually from Christy Young, who is the librarian at Tri-County MSHS. I will also correct some of  the things I wrote last night. This program was sponsored by the Tri-County Libraries as well as both libraries in Remington and Wolcott. She also told me that there were over 200 people in attendance, not 100 as I had reported last night. It was a hit!

Karen Land and Borage

The Tri-County community was visited by Karen Land and Borage tonight. The Wolcott Library and the Remington Carpenter Township Library sponsored her talk. Karen has participated in the Idatirod Sled Dog Race in Alaska three times, along with Borage. It was a delightful evening as she told about the dedication and work it takes for a musher and their dogs to ever get to the point of being allowed to run the Iditarod, which is over 1000 miles long. There were well over 100 people in attendance, old and young alike. As Karen talked, Borage wandered among the crowd. If you want to learn more about Karen Land and her dogs, check out her web site www.mymusher.com

Below I have included several pictures of Borage and some of the people at the high school tonight.

Borage, isn't he cute?

Elijah Legler and Devin Cyr were tempting Borage
with popcorn.

....The Rest of the Story

Well, in last night's post, I told the story of former Purdue basketball player, Curt Clawson, offering to take a picture of some Tri-County boys enjoying yesterday's victory over Penn State for me, since I had left my camera in the car.

I checked my e-mail tonight, and there, as promised, was an e-mail from Curt Clawson with the picture he had taken. Wow, that was awesome! I was hoping I would get it some time, but never did I imagine it would be that fast. So thank you, Curt, you are a class act!

The Tri-County boys pictured below are Justin Hall, Luke Pritchett, and Michael Hammer. Justin and Luke are seniors at Tri-County and Michael is a junior. They were quite noticeable since they were wearing Colts jerseys and in the bottom section. They had just finished giving high fives to the players as they were leaving the floor when this picture was taken. They were quite brave wearing those jerseys into Mackey Arena, :) since the Colts opponent in the Super Bowl this Sunday is the Saints being led by former Purdue quarterback Drew Brees. Lots of torn people around here---Do you cheer for the Colts or for Drew's team. We shall see, but I for one, will still be cheering on the Colts. The pain, should we lose, will be a little less with Drew being part of that team.

GO COLTS!!!!
